Honor a Lasting Legacy: 2027 AG Corps Hall of Fame and DMOC Nominations

Nominations are open for the 2027 U.S. Army Adjutant General’s Corps Hall of Fame (HOF) and Distinguished Member of the Corps (DMOC) recognition programs. These honors recognize individuals whose contributions have made a lasting, positive impact on the Corps and the Army.

All nomination packets are due no later than 15 December 2026.

The programs are administered by the Chief of the Adjutant General’s Corps at Fort Jackson, South Carolina. AGCRA is sharing this announcement to help inform the community; these are U.S. Army Adjutant General’s Corps programs, not AGCRA awards.

Recognizing Contributions That Endure

Established in June 2010, the Hall of Fame and DMOC programs preserve the accomplishments of those who have advanced the Corps’ mission and traditions. Inductees are honored through a permanent display in the AG Corps Hall of Honor at the Adjutant General School, Fort Jackson.

Selection focuses on the significance of an individual’s contributions. Attaining a senior rank or position, or completing a successful career, does not by itself establish qualification. Strong nominations explain what the individual accomplished, who benefited, and how that impact endured.

Hall of Fame Eligibility

The Hall of Fame recognizes eligible AG Corps personnel from all three Army components, including officers, warrant officers, noncommissioned officers, Soldiers, and qualifying civilian employees. Eligible specialties include Army Bands personnel and specified recruiting and retention NCOs, as outlined in the official Memorandum of Instruction (MOI).

HOF nominees must have served in the AG Corps and generally must:

  • Have completed at least 20 years of honorable service, or qualify as an approved Army medical retiree.
  • Have been officially retired from the Army or Department of Defense for at least two years, calculated using the 30 June cutoff for the induction year.
  • Have made positive, lasting, and significant contributions to the Army and the AG Corps.
  • Maintain honorable service, including during retirement.

For the 2027 class, a nominee who retired on 1 May 2025 meets the two-year requirement; a nominee who retired on 1 September 2025 would become eligible for the 2028 class. Individuals who were killed in action or are deceased are immediately eligible for consideration without regard to years of service or retirement status.

Historical Hall of Fame

The Historical HOF category recognizes earlier generations whose service might otherwise be overlooked because of the passage of time. Nominees must have begun military service before 1 July 1973 and/or separated before 1 March 1991. Unless otherwise specified in the MOI, the same HOF standards and procedures apply.

Distinguished Member of the Corps Eligibility

DMOC recognition is open to eligible active, retired, or separated personnel of any rank and component, including qualifying civilian employees.

Nominees must have distinguished themselves through outstanding, dedicated service or significant contributions that have had—or will have—a long-lasting, positive impact on the AG Corps and/or the Army. The narrative should focus on those contributions rather than simply summarize an entire career.

Who Can Submit a Nomination?

Anyone with personal knowledge of a potential inductee may submit a nomination. Senior AG/HR leaders, current Hall of Fame members, and others familiar with an individual’s accomplishments are encouraged to identify deserving candidates.

Individuals may not submit their own nomination packets or solicit endorsements for their own nominations. A recommender may nominate no more than three individuals for DMOC consideration in a given year.

Preparing Your Packet

Review the complete MOI and use the appropriate enclosed nomination form before submitting.

Hall of Fame packets must include:

  • A completed HOF nomination form (Enclosure 2).
  • A high-resolution digital or 8-by-10-inch color head-and-shoulders photograph. Uniform photographs must reflect the rank for which the nominee is being recommended; Historical HOF photographs should best represent the nominee.
  • A recommender’s cover letter attesting to the nominee’s qualifications and the accuracy of the packet.
  • A narrative describing the nominee’s significant and lasting contributions, limited to two single-spaced pages in Arial, minimum 10-point font.
  • No more than three endorsement letters, separate from the cover letter. Endorsement letters are optional for Historical HOF nominations.

HOF narratives and endorsements must contain an original or digital signature. Narratives should include measurable results or historically significant accomplishments that demonstrate the nominee’s impact.

DMOC packets must include:

  • A completed DMOC nomination form (Enclosure 4).
  • A narrative explaining the nominee’s outstanding service or significant contributions and their lasting impact, limited to two single-spaced pages in Arial, minimum 10-point font.

Digital packet submissions in PDF format are preferred.
