AG Week 2025 at Fort Cavazos, Texas

Enhancing Readiness and Strengthening the AG Community

From March 5-7, 2025, Fort Cavazos, Texas, hosted its annual AG Week, uniting Soldiers, leaders, and Army HR professionals to focus on personnel readiness, professional development, and esprit de corps.  Operating under the motto "Getting Soldiers on the Field," the event underscored the vital role of the AG Corps in sustaining Army Operations and enhancing personnel readiness.

Opening Briefing on AG School Developments

On March 5, 2025, at the Black Jack Chapel on Fort Cavazos, COL Chesley Thigpen, Chief of the Adjutant General's Corps and Commandant of the AG School, delivered an insightful briefing to AG Soldiers.  He detailed the progress and developments among the new cohort of AG School students. This session marked the beginning of a series of discussions, workshops, and networking opportunities designed to enhance professional development and fortify the AG community across the Army.

Professional Development and Senior Leader Engagement

Throughout Fort Cavazos AG Week, Soldiers engaged in various sessions, including discussions, workshops, and networking events. These initiatives were led by prominent Army HR leaders, including:

  • MG Hope Rampy, Commanding General, U.S. Army Human Resources Command (HRC)
  • BG Adam Smith, The Adjutant General (TAG)
  • SGM Mike Jackson, Sergeant Major of the HRC Talent Alignment and Development Directorate (TADD)

Their insights into evolving human resources processes, talent management, and readiness strategies gave Soldiers a deeper understanding of how these elements shape their careers and unit effectiveness.

AGCRA Breakfast Featuring Regimental Association Leaders

A highlight of the week was the AGCRA Breakfast hosted by the Lone Star Chapter, held at the Phantom Warrior Center on March 6, 2025.  This event showcased distinguished speakers from the Adjutant General’s Corps Regimental Association (AGCRA), a lifelong AG organization dedicated to supporting the AG Corps and Army human resources Soldiers, Civilians, and their Families through professional development, networking, and community engagement. The breakfast featured:

  • COL (Ret) Rob Manning, President of the AGCRA, addressed the importance of mentorship, continuous learning, and adaptability in today’s Army.
  • CW4 Alexander Pinckney, President of the AGCRA Lone Star Chapter and VP, Membership of AGCRA National Executive Council, who shared perspectives on leveraging professional networks and collaborative opportunities to further career growth and support within the Army's AG Community.

Event Coordination by the III Armored Corps G-1

The expert coordination and support of the III Armored Corps G-1 Team bolstered the success of AG Week. COL Richard Strong and SGM Daniel Cruz from the III Corps G-1 served as the primary hosts, ensuring the series of discussions, workshops, and networking opportunities ran seamlessly. Their leadership and dedication were instrumental in facilitating an engaging and impactful experience for all attendees.

The week culminated with the Fort Cavazos AG Ball, hosted by the AGCRA Lone Star Chapter, a formal celebration recognizing the AG Corps' achievements and traditions. MG Hope Rampy, HRC Commanding General, delivered an inspiring keynote address, emphasizing the AG Corps' pivotal role in advancing talent management, career development, and readiness initiatives. Her remarks reinforced the Army’s commitment to modernizing HR operations to better support Soldiers and their Families.

Building Camaraderie and Readiness

AG Week at Fort Cavazos was more than a series of events; it was a powerful demonstration of the dedication and professionalism within the AG Corps. By focusing on readiness, leadership, and collaborative growth, the week reinforced the essential contributions of AG Soldiers in sustaining and maintaining Army operations.  As the Army faces new challenges, Fort Cavazos AG Week continues to serve as a critical platform for fostering professional development, strengthening the AG Community, and ensuring that Army HR professionals are always prepared to support the force.
