Potomac Chapter Hosts Successful 23rd Annual LTG Timothy J. Maude Golf Tournament
The Potomac Chapter proudly hosted the 23rd Annual LTG Timothy J. Maude Golf Tournament at the Gunston Course, Fort Belvoir Golf Club. The event brought together 60 golfers for a day of camaraderie, competition, and support to strengthen the AGCRA community.
The tournament officially kicked off with a shotgun start at 0800, as teams competed across the scenic course while enjoying a variety of competitive challenges and activities throughout the day. This year’s tournament featured an exciting new addition—a $10,000 Hole-In-One prize—which generated enthusiasm and friendly competition among participants.
Golfers also competed for several individual awards, including Men’s and Women’s Longest Drive and Closest to the Pin honors. Special recognition goes to this year’s sponsors who helped make the event possible. Deloitte served as the Gold Sponsor, while Confluent sponsored the Women’s Longest Drive competition and Applica Innovations sponsored the Men’s Longest Drive competition.
In addition to tournament play, participants had the opportunity to purchase several fun competitive advantages, including Mulligans, the popular “Nolan Ryan” option allowing players to throw their ball instead of hitting it, and the newly introduced “Tee-It-Up” advantage, which allowed players to move one tee box closer to the pin.
The tournament also featured team awards for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place teams, with winners receiving trophies and gift cards to the Fort Belvoir Golf Course Pro Shop. Altogether, more than $600 in Pro Shop gift cards were distributed as prizes.
Participants also enjoyed an impressive selection of door prizes, including four themed gift baskets: a Golf Basket, Card My Yard Basket, Lunch on Us Basket, and a Whiskey and Cigars Basket. Additional giveaways included Potomac Chapter swag items and two tickets to the upcoming Potomac Chapter Ball later this year.
The event concluded with a Virginia Barbeque buffet, providing participants an opportunity to relax, network, and reflect on a successful day before departing. The Potomac Chapter extends sincere appreciation to all sponsors, volunteers, and golfers who contributed to the success of this year’s tournament and looks forward to welcoming everyone back next year.
