Lone Star Chapter Strengthens the Corps Through Recognition, Leadership Engagement, and Partnership

The AGCRA Lone Star Chapter continues to demonstrate what right looks like across the Adjutant General Corps—bringing together leaders, recognizing excellence, and strengthening the profession through deliberate engagement at every level.

Recognizing Leaders Who Impact the Force

On 20 February, the Lone Star Chapter had the distinct honor of recognizing Lieutenant General Kevin D. Admiral, Commanding General of III Corps, with the MG Horatio Gates Honorary Medal. Presented by AGCRA National President CSM (Ret.) Dr. Mark Clark, alongside Lone Star Chapter President SFC (Ret.) Katrina Ford, the award highlighted LTG Admiral’s exceptional leadership and continued support to the AG Corps.

Known for consistently recognizing Soldiers across the formation, LTG Admiral’s leadership has had a lasting impact at both the 1st Cavalry Division and III Corps level. This event provided an opportunity for the AG community to recognize a leader who has continuously invested in Soldiers and the profession.

During the engagement, the chapter also presented Dr. Clark with a Lone Star Chapter coin, symbolizing appreciation for his leadership and continued commitment to AGCRA and its chapters.

Honoring a Legacy of Service

The Lone Star Chapter also proudly recognized CSM (Ret.) Mark Phillips and CSM (Ret.) Adrian Thompson during the Fort Hood Garrison Semi-Annual Recognition Program. Phillips was honored for 35 years of service, and Thompson for 30 years—careers defined by professionalism, dedication, and impact within the Human Resources community.

Their recognition reflects more than time in service—it represents a legacy of leadership and a standard of excellence that continues to influence the Corps long after retirement.

Engaging Leaders at the Point of Impact

Beyond formal ceremonies, the Lone Star Chapter remains committed to connecting directly with units across the formation. During a recent visit to the 3rd Cavalry Regiment S1, Chapter President Katrina Ford engaged with HR professionals on the ground, gaining insight into their operations and recognizing the outstanding work being done in support of Soldiers.

These engagements reinforce the chapter’s commitment to staying connected to the force and ensuring that the voices of HR professionals at every level are heard and supported.

Building a Culture That Values People

The strength of the Lone Star Chapter is rooted in its people. Following a regularly scheduled council meeting, members took time to celebrate CPT Angela Beasley, the Chapter Treasurer, on her birthday.

While small in scale, the moment reflected something much larger—a culture of appreciation, cohesion, and care for one another. As Treasurer, CPT Beasley plays a critical role in enabling the chapter’s success, and the recognition underscored the value placed on those contributions.

Strengthening the Corps Through Partnership

The chapter’s impact is further enhanced through strong partnerships. The Lone Star Chapter extends its appreciation to Mr. Dan Gonzalez and Mrs. Ieshia Landrum of First Command Financial Services for their continued support.

As dedicated partners, they have played a key role in supporting chapter initiatives and educating Soldiers on financial literacy—an essential component of overall readiness. Their contributions also supported the creation of the Lone Star Chapter coin, a lasting symbol of the chapter’s identity and pride.

In recognition of their commitment, Chapter Senior Vice President CPT William Scott presented them with a Lone Star Chapter coin as a token of appreciation.

The Bottom Line

The Lone Star Chapter is not simply hosting events—it is shaping the culture of the AG Corps.

Through recognizing senior leaders, honoring decades of service, engaging directly with units, and investing in meaningful partnerships, the chapter continues to strengthen both the profession and the people within it.

This is what a strong chapter looks like: connected, deliberate, and committed to excellence.
