Lone Star Chapter Gives Back - Partnering with Be Great On Purpose (BGOP) to Support the Community

The AGCRA Lone Star Chapter is committed to making a meaningful impact beyond our professional networks. Recently, we had the privilege of visiting Be Great On Purpose (BGOP), a non-profit organization dedicated to supporting children and strengthening the surrounding Fort Cavazos community. Founded by Vantonio Fraley, BGOP operates with a mission to empower and uplift those in need, providing essential resources, mentorship, and educational opportunities.

A Historic Setting with a Legacy of Service
BGOP operates near 319 E. Young, Killeen, TX, a historic building with deep roots in service and leadership. This very location was once owned by Mrs. Oveta Culp Hobby, a pioneering woman renowned for her extraordinary contributions to public service, including her service as the first Secretary of the U.S. Department of Health, Education, and Welfare, and her leadership of the Women’s Army Corps during World War II. The site’s historical significance serves as a powerful reminder of the lasting impact that dedicated individuals and organizations can have on their communities.
Visitors are encouraged to take a moment to read the historical landmark sign outside the building, which details Mrs. Hobby’s remarkable achievements. Her legacy aligns seamlessly with the mission of BGOP, helping others and creating opportunities for future generations.
Lone Star’s Commitment to Giving Back
As part of our commitment to service, the Lone Star Chapter made a monetary donation and provided essential cleaning supplies to support BGOP’s daily operations. These contributions are just the beginning of what we hope will be an ongoing partnership to further BGOP’s mission.
However, we know that the actual impact comes from collective effort. That’s why we are reaching out to those who can help us expand this initiative. Whether through donations, volunteer efforts, or spreading awareness, every act of support contributes to the well-being of the children and families BGOP serves.

Join Us in Making a Difference
The Lone Star Chapter firmly believes in the power of giving back, and we encourage others to join us in supporting BGOP. If you or your organization is interested in contributing, whether through financial support, supplies, or volunteering, we would love to connect and collaborate.
Together, we can strengthen our community and bring about lasting, positive change. The Lone Star Chapter is giving back, and we hope you’ll join us!
